A fantastic atmosphere was created this morning at Whitehill when over 120 people turned up to take part in Tir na nOg GAC Randalstown Annual walk/ run and cycle. The cyclists took off first at 10.30am to complete their 20mile route. All participants completed this in just over 1 hour 30minutes or less. Around 11.30am over 90 individuals, young and old took part in the club’s 4 mile walk/run.
This event was thoroughly enjoyed by all and set a perfect setting leading the club into their centenary year. Everyone came back to the club to enjoy mince pies and mulled wine. Tir na nOg send a special thanks to those outside of the club who took part and thank everyone who had any part in organising today.
The fastest male runner was Rory Johnson with a time of 24.10mins, closely followed by Ryan Marrion and Tony Scullion. The fastest female runner for the second year in a row was Nuala McKay, coming in at 33.24, Ellen O’Boyle was closely on her heels. Daniel McLornan was the fastest boy at 27.19 and Aisling Smith the fastest girl at 31.17. Finally the fastest male cyclist was Simon Carey and female was Lisa Ewart.
