Moneyglass are through to the final of the Feile Shield following a hard fought victory over St. James Aldergrove in far from ideal conditions in Ahoghill today. The bright sunshine that greeted the sides was interrupted time and again by heavy rain and coupled with the cold wind it is a credit to both sides for serving up such an entertaining game.
The young St. Ergnat’s led by 2-1 to 0-4 at the half way stage and despite the best efforts of a battling St. James they went on to add a third goal in the second half which saw them cross the winning line with five points to spare.
Best for the winners were brothers Paul and Damien Duffin and Sean Boyd in defence . Kevin McCann at midfield and Tiernan Mc Cormick and Tadgh Mc Ateer up front. Moneyglass will now meet Casements Portglenone, who defeated Glenavy after extra time in the other semi-final.
