North Antrim Feile na nGael (Round-Robin – Round 1)
Dunloy Cuchullains 1-3 Glenariffe Oisins 2-7
Glenariffe Oisins got their Feile campaign off to a winning start when they travelled to Dunloy on Saturday and came away with a 2-7 to 1-3 win in the first of the Round Robin games. When they turned around just five points to the good at half time after having had the use of the strong breeze it liked the visitors may be in a spot of bother but a goal early in the second half swung the momentum back in their favour and they held on for the win.

The Oisins opened strongly when a good four-man move saw corner forward Peadar McDonnell in for the opening point in the second minute. Further points from Brogan O’Connor frees in the fifth and seventh minutes gave them a three point cushion and when full forward Phelim Ward grabbed the first goal of the game in the eleventh minute they appeared to be in control. However Dunloy got themselves back into contention in the fourteenth minute when centre forward Eoghan Richmond whipped a great ground shot to the Glenariffe net to leave just three points between the sides.
The Oisins now appeared to be under pressure but they helped their cause in the final five minutes of the half as Brogan O’Connor tagged on two more points, one from a free and one from play to give his side a 1-5 to 1-0 lead at the break.

Dunloy piled on the pressure early in the second half but Glenariffe defended well and when Ward grabbed his second goal of the game two minutes after the restart the Oisins were back in charge. Dunloy battled hard and their brilliant midfielder Oisin McCamphill pulled a point back but Glenariffe were always able to find an answer and top scorer O’Connor picked off two more from frees. Dunloy full forward Ben O’Kane drilled a free inches over the Glenariffe crossbar and McCamphill grabbed another point as the clock ticked down but the visitors were always in control and held on to win the points.
