On Wednesday 15th May at Tír na nÓg, South West Antrim held the finals of their U12 airborne Hurling development competition. Aimed at providing games to clubs with smaller numbers and those preparing for the upcoming leagues, the past 4 weeks 8 teams have been playing games. Scores were awarded as 1 point for a goal, 2 points for a point and 2 points for a clean catch and hook or block, to encourage skill development. The finals were based on results from teams playing each other in a league and indeed the winners were mainly determined more on the scores for skills such as catching and blocking / hooking as opposed to normal scores. The final scores were;
