Minor Football Championship set to kick off tomorrow night

Minor Football Championship Opening Round (Tues 6th August)

The opening round of the Minor Football championship is set to commence on Tuesday 6th August with a repeat of last year’s final included in the first round draw.

Cuchullian’s Dunloy took the under-18 title last year when they proved too strong for St Gall’s in the decider at Cloney and fate has decided that they will meet up again in the opening round this time.

Randalstown based Tir na nOg have impressed in the league this term and the Whitehill side will be fancied to make impression in the championship and are likely have their credentials tested when they line out against near neighbours Creggan in round one.

Aghagallon will play hosts to Con Magees Glenravel in an all South West affair and similarly Ballymena based All Saint’s visit Crumlin with the other tie seeing Casement’s visit St Brigid’s.

There are a couple of opening round games in the Minor B championship down for decision as well.

St Mary’s Aghagallon v Con Magees Glenravel

Cuchullian’s Dunloy v St Gall’s

St Brigid’s v Casement’s Portglenone

St James Aldergrove v All Saint’s Ballymena

Kickham’s Creggan v Tir na nOg Randalstown

Minor Football B Championship

St Joseph’s Glenavy v Clann na Gael

St Ergnat’s Moneyglass v Gael an tSeibhe Dhuieb
