In their first outing on Friday night, St. Brigid’s had too much fire power for visitors Creggan in a high sacoring game at Musgrave Park.

St Brigid’s started off with a great point from half forward Conor O Doherty. It didn’t take long for the home team to get another score on the board after a nice long range score from Peter Lundy went over the black spot. Goals followed quickly with Damien Magee hitting the net quickly followed by Peter Lundy getting another.

The first half went heavily in the blue’s favour with points from O Doherty & another goal from Magee to put the home side 3.04 – 0.02 up at the first water break.

The 2nd quarter was much of the same with Naomh Brid grabbing another 4 points and Creggan getting 1 putting the home side 3.08 – 0.03 at HT.

The second half was a different story. A dropped ball by Naomh Brid’s goal keeper led to a penalty which was Cooly slotted home by Creggan’s captain & corner forward, Lee Martin deployed at the edge of the square.

2 more Creggan goals followed suit by Frank McAuley but  Naomh Brid held on though with a 3rd goal from Damien Magee and points from Peter Henvey & Paul Bradley left the home side 4.11 – 3.05 at the final whistle.
