Minor Football League Round Up
Group 1 A
Erin’s Own Cargin lead the way in Group 1 in the Minor A Football League with a comprehensive win over nearest rivals, All Saints Ballymena in Toome last night. Cargin ran out 5-11 to 1-9 winners over a previously unbeaten Ballymena side.
St. James Aldergrove sit in third place following a 1-11 to 2-3 win over Moneyglass in Crumlin while Tir na nOg had two goals to spare over Aghagallon at Pairc na nGael.
Group 2 A
In Group 2 Sarsfield’s move into second place following last night’s convincing 10 point win over St. Enda’s in the only game that was played but St. Brigid’s still remain tops despite having a game in hand. St. Gall’s look the side best placed to challenge Sarsfield’s for a top two place though Rossa can’t be ruled out.
Minor Football B Group 1
In the Minor B Group 1 section its Kickham’s Ardoyne who top the table with 6 points from 3 starts with Lamh Dhearg, 6 points from 4 starts and St. Joseph’s Glenavy 4 points from 3 starts close behind.
St. Joseph’s had three points to spare over Naomh Comghgall last night, 2-13 to 2-10 while Lamh Dhearg recorded a big win in Lisburn against Naomh Padraig, 5-15 to 1-3.
Group 2 B
In Group 2 of the Minor Football B Kickham’s Creggan travelled to Portglenone and recorded a convincing 3-18 to 2-8 win over the home side in the only game that was played in the group.
Con Magee’s Glenravel remain tops on 6 points from 3 starts while Dunloy are well placed on 4 points from 2 starts and could prove Glenravel’s main challengers in the group.
