Casement’s & Geraldine’s GAC held their Juvenile Presentation evening in 2005 and looking through the photographs today my immediate attention was drawn to the club’s special guests on the evening and their involvement with Antrim football today.
As we all know, Enda McGinley has been appointed as Antrim’s new football team manager and two of his backroom staff, Sean Kelly and Stephen O’Neill were the guests of honour at the Portglenone presentation on that memorable evening in late in 2005.
Also amongst the guests were All Saints chairman, Jim Brady who is now principal of St. Brigid’s Primary School in Ballymena but at the time was principal in St. Mary’s Primary School, Portglenone.
The Juvenile presentation night also included players from St. Mary’s GAC, Ahoghill as both clubs united under the Sean Stinson’s banner at the time.
Notable amongst the photographs taken on the night is one of Stephen O’Neill and Sean Kelly making a presentation to a very young Niall Delargy who is now very much a part of the Antrim senior football so 16 year’s later this three will be reunited in an effort to further Antrim’s cause.
