Those of you who have logged into the Saffron Gael over the weekend will see that we have been extremely busy and have covered a lot of games, both within the county and further afield. We had photographers and reporters in Haggardstown on Saturday for the Louth v Antrim NFL Division 4 North opener and what a game that turned out to be. On Sunday we had our photographic and reporter team in Nowlan Park while we attempted to cover as many games as possible within the county on the same day.
Credit to our hard working team for the amount of games we covered and indeed to the club PRO’s who sent us reports from the games we couldn’t cover. However there were a number of games we just could not get to and we appeal to those clubs to send us a report on their game. You still have time. It doesn’t have to be long. Your team and scorers: The other team and scorers if you know them: The half time and full time score and we will do the rest.
Here’s a useful hint. Ask the referee at your game to let you take a photograph of the team sheets before the game. (We have found our referees very supportive of the site) When the other team scores note the number if you don’t know their name and we will fill it in from the team sheet when you send it to us.
There is also a great free app for your phone called GAA Scores Stats which is simple to use and can store a world of information from the games. There will young members in every club who could operate it with ease and would be glad to help out the club.
We hope to hear from you soon and remember having your games included in the Saffron Gael is a great way to promote Gaelic games in your club. More than 10,000 readers visited the site on Sunday and that has been consistent since our leagues have been up and running.
