Carey Faughs 4 – 9 Shane O’ Neills 2 – 17.
In a high scoring entertaining Junior league game visitors Glenarm edged out Carey at St Patrick’s Park on Sunday. The fact that the score was level on six occasions emphasis the close encounter that it was.
The Glenarm lads held a 1.9 to 2.4 at the interval with their goal coming from Daniel Black , Ciaran McGill on six points and two each from Liam Mulvenna and Con Ward.
Marksmen for the Faughs were Rory McBride and Fiachra McVeigh on 1-1 apiece with 2 points from Daniel McBride.
The second half was Deja vu and probably the crucial score was a 26th minute penalty awarded to Shane O’Neills and despatched to the net by Daniel Black.
Carey had taken an earlier lead through a fine Fiahra McVeigh goal, but with McGill in fine form aided by Scullion the visitors always looked the more composed. Carey introduced Darren McGowan and he immediately made his presence felt with a 1-4 contribution. There was nothing between the sides going into injury time but the visitors snatched it at the death with late points from Liam Mulvenna and Scullion ensured the points for the men from Feystown.
