Antrim Hurling League – Division 2 Cup – Quarter-Final
Oisins 2-26(32) Tir na nÓg 1-7(10)
The Oisins cruised through to the semi-final of the Division 2 League Cup when they easily accounted for Tir na nÓg in Sunday’s semi-final in Glenariffe. The home team were totally dominant in the opening half against a Tir na nÓg side who were short a few regulars and had the game wrapped up by half time when they led by 1-20 to 0-2.


The Oisins opened with three points through Oliver Kearney, Ciaran McKendry and Alex O’Boyle before Niall Devlin got the visitors first score on four minutes. The next ten scores all came from the Oisisn six of them from Alex O’Boyle and two from Caolan O’Connor and one from Ciaran McKendry before and Alex O’boyle free was deflected to the net for a goal.
Sean Duffin pulled one back for the under pressure Randalstown men but eight more without reply for the home team had then 21 clear at the half-time whistle.
The second half saw Tir na nÓg fare much better and in the opening eight minutes of the new half they hit a goal and three points, Sean Duffin getting 1-2 and Ciaran Logan a point. Alex O’Boyle replied with a point from a free for Glenariffe, but Sean Duffin cancelled that out with another point for the men in blue. However they would only manage one more point in the eighteen minutes that remained while three more from Alex O’Boyle, one from Caolan O’Connor and a goal from Seanie McIntosh wrapped it all up for the Oisins.
