Cushendun Emmet’s 1-20 St Gall 2-13
Cushendun survived a shaky start to overcome visitors St Gall’s at CushLig an Airgid on Sunday and set up a Antrim Coast derby against Glenariffe Oisins on Wednesday. When St Gall’s struck two quick goals in the 8th and 10th minutes to go 2-2 to 1-1 ahead it looked like they were in a bit of trouble, but they fought their way back and were a point ahead at half time. It remained tight during the second half but the Emmet’s just had the edge and at the end they had four points to spare.
Pearse Bannon opened the scoring for the Emmet’s with a point in the second minute but St Gall’s were soon level through Gregory McGreevy. Connlaoth McNeill put the home team back in front with a goal from a free, but St Gall’s had their best spell of the game between the fifth and tenth minutes and after Gregory McGreevy pointed them level full forward Antoin McCaffrey and left half forward Paddy Friel grabbed goals apiece inside two minutes.

Cushendun were rocked but they began to settle and they hit three points in a row from ‘Loaf’ McNeill, Harry Kilgore and Pearse Bannon steadied the ship and they went on to lead by 1-10 to 2-6 at half time.
Five points from Harry Kilgore, David Kilgore Conleth Ryan, Conor McHugh and Conlaith McNeill, in reply to just one from Gregory McGreevy between the 33rd and 40th minute had them in control and they went to win by four to set up a meeting with Glenariffe on Wednesday evening.
