All Saints claim North Antrim B title

North Antrim Minor B Hurling Final

All Saints 1-23 Glenravel 2-9

All Saints arrived for the North Antrim B Championship final full of confidence after their League win on Sunday but also missing a few regulars. The game started in frantic fashion as the Saints registered a couple of early points but a fired up Glenravel came roaring back with a goal to lead by 3. Things seemed to take a turn for the worse for All Saints when they lost Matthew Mullen to a red card but they gathered themselves together after the water break and came roaring back.

Kevin O’Boyle blasted a superb goal to put them back in the lead and it was a lead they were never gave again to lose as Aodhan McGarry kept the score board ticking over with some well taken frees.

Daniel McCoy and Rory Taggart were replaced at half time by Connor O Hara and Rory Dunne., both boys having ran themselves in to the ground in the first half after the sending off. Although a man down All Saints now had the wind advantage and Aodhan McGarry put it to great use, 2 frees from well inside his own half had the watching Saints supporters roaring their approval.

The Glenravel boys were still competing hard, fighting for every ball and the game seemed to potentially turn again when a fortuitous goal cut the gap to 5 pts. However as in the League final on Sunday the Slemish Park side squashed any potential come back by scoring 6 superb unanswered points to run out deserved victors.

Full credit to both teams who produced a great game of hurling in very windy conditions and some of the score taking was a treat for the big crowd. Both teams will now re focus on the County Championship starting in a couple of weeks.
