Football Championship draws made

The draws for the 2022 Antrim Football championships have thrown together a number of interesting groups with Group 1 in the SFC potentially the group of death. Holders Creggan have been drawn with Lamh Dhearg, St. John’s and St. Gall’s.

Group 2 throws together South West neighbours Portglenone, Ahoghill and Moneyglass with St. Brigid’s making up that group and there are sure to be a few tasty encounters in this group.

In Group 3 last year’s beaten finalists, Aghagallo0n are drawn with Gort na Mona w boys, Tir na nOg and will fancy their chances of advancing to the quarter final while former champions Cargin face Naomh Eanna and Rossa in Group 4  and look favourites to emerge from that group.

Northern Switchgear Antrim Senior Football Championship
Group One: Creggan, Lámh Dhearg, St John’s, St Gall’s
Group Two: Portglenone, St Brigid’s, Moneyglass, Ahoghill
Group Three: Aghagallon, Gort na Móna, Tír na nÓg
Group Four: Cargin, Naomh Éanna, O’Donovan Rossa

In the IFC last year’s beaten finalists All Saints are drawn with Glenavy and last year’s Junior Championship winners Naomh Comhghall while St. James’ Aldergrove drop back into the Intermediate grade after a couple of seasons in Senior Championship and will quietly fancy the chances here.

They have been drawn in Group 4 with St. Teresa’s and St. Paul’s and the Shaw’s Road men have been knocking on the championship door for a few seasons and are likely to challenge again this year

OB Construction Intermediate Football Championship
Group One: Ardoyne, Lisburn, Sarsfield’s, Dunloy
Group Two: Ballymena, Glenavy, St Comgall’s
Group Three: Davitt’s, Rasharkin, Glenravel
Group Four: Aldergrove, St Teresa’s, St Paul’s

In the Junior Football Championship Greencastle Wolfe Tones make their bow in a group where last year’s beaten semi-finalists and league runners up, Pearses look favourites to emerge with O’Donnell’s likely to join them.

Group 2 looks more difficult to predict but St. Malachy’s and St. Agnes may emerge from that group.
