Creggan 1-15 Gort na Mona 0-4
In what very much turned out to be a game of two halves, bottom of the table Gort na Mona performed well in the opening period, perhaps spurred on by their win over Aghagallon last week at Enright Park. The Gorts turned in a battling first thirty minutes against the reigning county champions and would have been happy to be well in contention at the half way stage where they trailed by the minimum.
Creggan were a bit off the pace in the opening half with their scores coming from Aiden McKeown, Paddy Coey and Dominic Mc Ateer picking up the other 2 points. Gorts replied through lively corner forward Niall Melaney and the evergreen Poggy McHugh scoring 2 in what was a scrappy first half.

The second half was a better display for Kickhams with Sean Duffin sending them on their way with a great long range point and Mathew Rodgers also kicking 3 excellent long range efforts and Paddy Coey scoring a 40m free to give Kickhams a six point lead 12 minutes into the second half.
The only goal of the game came after 15 minutes and was started with a great turnover by Tiernan McAteer and following a great piece of inter passing McAteer had continued his run and finished to the net. Points followed from Fintan Burke, Mathew Rodgers and Sean Duffin before young Niall Melaney scored Gorts only point of the half.
Dermot McCann then kicked a fine point from 45meters as the home side started to turn the screw and Jamie Mc Cann and Paddy Coey finished off the scoring for Kickhas to leave them comfortable winners in the end.
