Another list of fixtures scheduled for prime time viewing for Sunday, which is the penultimate round prior to the split.
Division One (1.00pm)
Casement’s v Kickham’s Creggan
This one which involves South West based rivals sees the Portglenone men play hosts to the reigning county champions as Creggan pay a visit to Kelly Park which does look ‘match of the day’.
The Portglenone men were quickly into stride this term and a slick getaway saw John McKeever’s charges lead the way in the division for the opening weeks.
They suffered a first defeat when Cargin visited and then lost away to Rossa last time out they will return to home base for the visit of Creggan intent on returning to winning ways.
Creggan have been faring more than well in the league and with just a single reversal up at Hightown early in the season they occupy top rating in the list at present.
The Kickham’s will have their eyes firmly fixed on the championship and the retention of their hard earned title but they will travel to Portglenone in a positive mode.
This does look a tough one to call but ground advantage may well aid the Bannsider’s to a narrow win but this one could go either way.
St Mary’s Ahoghill v O’ Donovan Rossa
St Mary’s Ahoghill have been struggling to regain the services of a full squad for much of the season but the Cloney men did underline their current wellbeing last time out when they gained a full return of the points up at Aghagallon.
That confidence boost will aid morale and they will seek to gain in stride in this one as the currently in form Rossa pay a visit.
Rossa took time to gain momentum this term but they really hit the target of late and a win over Casement’s last time underlines current good form as they take the road to the South West.
Rossa will travel in confidence and they will start this one as firm favourites, but the Cloney men are not to be under estimated however and they will not be easily beaten.
Gort na Mona v St Brigid’s
Having been under a cloud for much of the season Gort na Mona opened account in their penultimate game when they proved 2-07 to 1-08 winners over the visiting Aghagallon.
They failed to follow that up when visiting Rossa and again on their visit to St. John’s on Wednesday night though they performed well before losing narrowly. They facve another stiff challenge when St. Brigid’s visit Enright Park.
St Brigid’s have not been at their best as this term with only three wins to date.
The Musgrave residents remain too close to the bottom of the table for peace of mind and they will travel up the Enright Park hoping for a positive return.
St Brigid’s will start as favourites but if the home side can regain the composure witnessed in their penultimate assignment then they may give their visitors a run for their money.
Tir na nOg v St Enda’s
The reigning Intermediate and division two league champions Tir na nOg seem to have settled into their new niche in the top division.
Michael O’ Kane’s charges have fared well in difficult assignments to date and will seek to retain such positivity again as Glengormley based St Enda’s visit.
St Enda’s have proved a trifle enigmatic in their offerings thus far but they have gained four wins to date including a victory over Creggan at Hightown.
Karl McCabe’s charges recorded an impressive 1-07 to 0-07 win over the visiting county champions in that one and will look for a similar showing when they visit Randalstown.
St Enda’s will start as favourites but they will need to be at their best if they are to get the better of the Whitehill Blues on their own sod with a tentative nod given to the home side.
St Gall’s v Lamh Dhearg
St Gall’s looked a side on the upward when they held Cargin to a draw in Toome last time out.
Paddy Mc Shane’s men have been on a team building mission from the outset and they look in a better place as they play hosts to Lamh Dhearg in this one.
Lamh Dhearg have been unpredictable to date but the Hannahstown men do hold a snug fifth place in the ratings and will travel to Milltown seeking addition to their points total.
They gained a win over the visiting St Enda’s last time and will travel West seeking to follow suit.
This looks another close one in prospect but if Paddy Mc Shane’s charges can replicate the sort of form they showed in Toome then they may well gain the points.
Division Two (all games at 2.00pm)
St Ergnat’s Moneyglass v Michael Davitt’s
Moneyglass retain the lead in the division despite losing out to the inform Ardoyne in their penultimate assignment where the North Belfast side earned a 1-16 to 0-12 verdict.
They did return to form last time out when they recorded a three point win over St Teresa’s to ensure a return to the top of the table but they will meet another stiff test in this one as Davitt’s visit Marian Hill.
Davitt’s lost their previously undefeated record last time when they travelled down to Glenravel.
Con Magees claimed a 3-10 to 0-15 verdict over the Falls Road side and Davitt’s take another trip down the country again seeking a better return.
This does look another close encounter but ground advantage may aid the Moneyglass men to the victory.
Cuchullian’s Dunloy v Kickham’s Ardoyne
Ardoyne have been the inform team in the division and recorded five wins on the trot after a slow start and the North Belfast side have continued to move up the table.
They continued in winning ways last time out with victory over Glenavy at Chapel Hill with a 2-08 to 1-10 win and will travel down to Dunloy in a confident mood.
Dual club and reigning senior hurling champions Cuchullian’s really impressed last time when they recorded an impressive win over St Paul’s at Shaw’s Road
Dunloy will start this one as favourites but they are likely to face a stiff challenge from an in form Kickham’s
St Teresa’s v All Saints Ballymena
All Saints have improved after a slow start to the season and they recorded a good win over Sarsfield’s at the Bear Pit last time and they travel to Belfast again as they cross swords with St Teresa’s.
St Teresa’s have struggled this season with only two wins but both of them were gained at home but
they remain at the bottom of the division and although recent results have hinted at improvement, points are required if they are to halt a slide towards the bottom grade.
St Teresa’s will certainly not give up without a fight but All Saints should have enough to take the points.
St Mary’s Rasharkin v Patrick Sarsfield’s
Rasharkin have improved as the season has progressed and under the Mark Dougan, Ciaran Mc Cartney management team the Dreen side look to be on the upward trail.
They recorded an impressive victory over St. James’ last time and they will look to carry that winning form again as Sarsfield’s visit.
Sarsfield’s have struggled in the league this season and lost to the visiting All Saints last time and they will look for a better return in this one as they take a trip down to the South West.
Rasharkin have gained in composure as the season has progressed and the current climate would suggest a home win.
St James Aldergrove v St Paul’s
This looks like another close one as Aldergrove welcome St Paul’s to Crumlin with little separating them in the ratings.
Aldergrove have proved erratic in their performances to date and indeed such tendencies seem to be shared with their visitors.
St. James’ lost to Rasharkin last time out whilst St Paul’s were well beaten by Dunloy on the same day and both will look for better this time.
Aldergrove, with the benefit of home support will start as favourites and although nothing is certain the Crumlin men may well gain the verdict.
