Two second half goals proved to be the difference as Casements secured 3rd spot in Division 1 with an eight point win over St Johns.
The first half was a close encounter with both sides trading points. Oisín Doherty was a constant threat for the Johnnies defence, hitting two points from play in the opening half.
Each time Casements took the lead, St John’s were able to respond. A half back line that included Adrian Oliver and Paddy McBride were proving to be the catalyst for any attacking threat the visitors posed.
Referee Sean Laverty brought the first half to a close with the sides level 0-5 to 0-5.

Casements started the second half with much more intent. Centre forward Michael Hagan began to pull the strings for the home side with Doherty and Conall Delargy always dangerous inside.
It was Delargy who got the first goal of the game with a brilliant 50 yard lob over the St Johns goalkeeper, who was retreating after joining the attack. This goal proved to be the catalyst for the home side to push on and dominate the remainder of the game.
Aidan McAleese added a second goal halfway through the second half to make a comfortable finish to the game for the home side
