St Dominic’s through to the final of the Rosina McManus Shield

St Dominic’s Belfast 3-10 St Ronan’s Lurgan 1-2

ST Dominic’s Belfast are through to the Rosina McManus Shield final in their first year back in senior camogie.

The Falls Road side had beaten St Aidan’s Cootelhill at the start of the week in the quarter-final and were quickly in control of the semi-final in Woodlands on Friday with Rebecca McConville’s goal opening up a gap towards the end of the first half. 

Aoibhinn Donohue had goaled for St Ronan’s earlier, but the Lurgan outfit still trailed by 1-7 to 1-2 at the break.

St Dominic’s pressed home their advantage during the second half with Ciara Maguire, Grace Holbrook, Raicheal Mulholland and Maeve Devlin in defence, Niamh Ritchie in midfield and Saorlaith Brennan, Rebecca McConville and Dervla McAufield up front all prominent. McConville and Aisling Hyndman scored the second half goals.

On the other side of the draw, Aquinas Grammar from the Ravenhill Road face Bailieborough Community school in Newry on Monday with the winner then playing the north Derry combination of Gleann na Ró in the semi-finals.
