St Canice’s Dungiven 3-12 Ramor United 0-11

Derry champions St Canice’s Dungiven booked their place in the semi-final of the St Paul’s Minor Football tournament when they beat Cavan champions Ramor Utd in Sunday’s quarter final at Paric Naomh Pól. In an enjoyable game of football Dungiven held the upper hand and had plenty of possession but a gritty Ramor side, who were short a couple of regulars, hung in well and were only a point behind at the break. 0-5 to 0-6

Dungiven full forward Odhran Murphy fires in his team’s opening goal

With full forward Odhran Murphy leading the line in the second half Dungiven began to open a gap and when Murphy got the game’s first goal on 50 minutes it was going to be a long way back for Ramor. The Cavan’s side’s centre forward Matthew Smith hit some great points from frees, but when corner forward Conor Gaile got Dungiven’s second goal there was now way back for Ramor.

Man of the match Murphy added another point late in the game, and though Smith came back with one for Ramor, there was still time for a third goal for Dungiven, as Ryan McCloskey hit the target deep in injury time
