Táin Shield – Ulster Under 15 Hurling Final
Eoghan Ruadh Dungannon 3-15 Naomh Padraig 3-06
A great start by Eoghan Ruadh Dungannon, which saw them go 2-4 to 0-0 ahead after 16 minutes proved to be too big a hill to climb for Naomh Padraig in Sunday’s Tain Ulster Under 15Hurling League final at Dunsilly on Saturday.
After a slow start by both teams the Dungannon boys really got going with a point from man of the match Cormac McElean in the sixth minute, and the same player added a second point two minute later. A goal from Eoghan Ruadh full forward Padraig Doran in the tenth minute was followed two minutes later by a second goal from Cormac McErlean and the Tyrone boys added two points as well to go ten clear after fifteen minutes.

Naomh Padraig were really up against it, but two quick points from full forward Liam Magee seemed to settle them down a bit. However the Dungannon boys came back again and by half time they had stretched their lead to 2-7 to 0-3.
Naomh Padraig made a bright start to the second half and when they hit three point without reply through Eoin Bailey, Liam Magee and Cathair McCaughan the confidence appeared to be growing. However Eoghan Ruadh came back strongly and they hit the next four points through McErlean, Eoghan Cowan, Padraig Dorian and McErlean again put them back in full control.
A pointed free from Liam Magee was then followed by a goal from corner forward Tom Hunter after Magee’s attempt at goal from a free had been parried by the Eoghan Rua defence, but Eoghan Ruadh came back with a brilliant goal by Cormac McErlean with a brilliant strike off the ground. Further point from McErlean and McKenna stretched the lead even more, but to their credit Naomh Padraig kept plugging away and they were rewarded with two late goals from Cathair McCaughan and Oran Devlin.
