Aghagallon All Stars attend their first Blitz

A fantastic day was had by all as the St. Mary’s Aghagallon All Stars team travelled down to Warrenpoint to take part in their first ever blitz. Almost 100 children from five different GAA for All teams across Ulster came together to show off their skills in a well-structured tournament organised by the Ulster Council and St. Peters Warrenpoint.

This was the Aghagallon team’s first ever proper match experience and they did their club proud. Every kick, hand pass and effort were a cause for celebration. Goals, points and even wides resulted in cheers and high fives all round! After a number of games with teams from Warrenpoint, Donaghmore, Derry and Crossmaglen, the day finished off with a medal presentation. A medal that those players and their families will truly cherish. As one of the parents, Andrew Nelson stated, ‘Great day and great memories.  I never thought I’d see Mia in an Aghagallon team but thanks to all the volunteers it’s happened. It means a lot to all us parents and it’s very much appreciated.’

The day was a huge success and many happy memories were made. St Mary’s would like to thank St Peters Warrenpoint for hosting the blitz today and inviting us down to participate. Hopefully there will be many more competitions and matches in the near future.
