Under 13 Football League
On a fine summers evening in Aghagallon, Glenavy U13’s made the short trip down the Lurgan road to take on the home team. The home team got the first score and it was a few minutes before Glenavy levelled up the score. Some great display of skills was on show throughout the match as Aghagallon went in at half time 1-06 to 0:05 up. The second half got underway and Glenavy got off to a great start with a few well taken points, then was the turn of Aghagallon star player Micheal Mulholland to take over the point scoring. Glenavy we’re ruling there missed chances when Ronan Arthur’s held off his marker and buried the ball to the net to bring it back to a 1 point game, from the kick out Aghagallon got possession and drove at the Glenavy defence Ryan Green had to make a tackle to stop Micheal and picked up a black card the free was converted to bring the home side back to 2 up.

With 2 mins to play the ball dangerously was played into the Glenavy defence when full back Cormac Hamilton claimed the ball and drove out to find his team mate Eoghan McGarry who then spotted Joseph Monaghan out in front of his man he turned and took on his man to find his corner forward Donncha Devine who slotted the ball with the outside of his boot into the top corner to make it 1 up for Glenavy . With 30secs on the clock Aghagallon drove at the Glenavy defence and with a last ditched block by Glenavy’s Jack Duffy the referee looked at his watch to see time was up and sound the final whistle. A great game of football by both teams and both teams should be proud of their performances.
