Goals did the trick for Cargin when they played Gort na Mona in the Under 16 LGFA league game at Turf Lodge on Tuesday evening

The Gorts girls dominated the early exchanges and hit the first four scores, two of them from Mia Dembele Mills, one from Caitlin McKee and the other from Chloe Boyd Munce.

Cargin had missed a good few chances but they brought themselves right back into the game with a goal from full forward Orliath Johnston. That was to be their only score of the opening half as the Gorls went on to lead by 0-5 to 1-0, the other point comeing from Caitlin McKee.

Fter the change of ends Cargin moved ahead with a point from Laura Scullion and a second goal from Orlaith Johnton to take a two point lead, but Gort na Mona hit back with four points without replay through Munce, Mills, Dobbin and Mills again the move two in from once again. However Cargin grabbed a third goal, this time from midfielder Laura Scullion and Laura Johnston added two more points to win in the end by 3-3 to 0-1.
