Antrim minor hurlers bounced back from last week’s defeat by Offaly when they beat Wicklow convincingly at Darvar in round 2 of the Leinster Under 17 Hurling Championship on Saturday.

Playing against a strong diagonal wind in the first half Antrim corner forward Oisin McCallin led the line, scoring a goal and two points, while Conan Johnston hit two, while Thomas McLaughlin, Fiontan Bradley and Frank Cane got one a piece as they led at the break by 1-7 to 0-2.

With the gale at Antrim’s  backs in the second half there was no way back for Wicklow as the Saffrons used the elements well to run up a big score.

Frank Kane, Conan Johnston and Fiontan Bradley all found the net in the second period, Bradley adding five points as well, while Conor Donnelly, Liam McEnhill, Thomas McLaughlin, Liam McEnhill and corner back Lorcan McCallin all picked off points to give them a convincing win and keep their qualification hopes alive.
