Con Magees LGFA hosted the first Gaelic for Mothers and Others blitz of the season at Fr Maginn Park on Saturday, and despite the Storm Kathleen doing her best to spoil the day it turned out to be a great event. Heavy duty tyres had to be used to keep the portable goals in place, and lots of the teams were having ‘bad hair days’ but apart from that everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Right from the high paced warm up excercised conducted from the balcony by Eimear Higgins, to the final kick of the ball it was a day to remember.

There were a great selection of teams from across the county and beyond, the host club being joined by the newest LGFA club in the county St Brigid’s Cloughmill, Wolfetones of Greencastle, St Patrick’s Lisburn, All Saints Ballymena, St Comgall’s Antrim, Naomh Eanna Glengormley and the team who travelled furthest of all, Faughenvale from Greysteel, Co Derry.
Ater the games players moved indoors to the clubrooms for tea and refreshments and chatted about the great day they had…..and when they would all meet again
