Breslin Cup
Glenavy 2-11 Moneyglass 6-9
When these sides turned around for the second half with only a point separating them, this Breslin Cup game between Glenavy and Moneyglass at Chapel Hill looked very much in the balance.
However visitors St. Ergnat’s produced a second half surge to totally outplay their opponents during a power packed exhibition of attacking football that the home side just couldn’t live with despite a strong effort.
Goals from Gerard O’Kane, Cormac Scullion and a third from the penalty spot from Odhran Duffin late in the half saw the visitor’s edge ahead at the interval.

Glenavy gave as good as they got up to this point and goals from Charlie McGrandles after 16 minutes and another from Eoin Nelson saw them lead by two as half time approached.
Duffin’s penalty strike edged the visitor’s one ahead but there was little indication at this stage as to how the game would swing so decisively in his side’s favour after the break.
With Duffin to the fore St. Ergnat’s came flying out of the second half start traps and the big mid-fielder pointed within 15 seconds before firing home his side’s fourth goal in the 5th minute.
A minute later Gerard O’Kane got through for goal number five and even at this juncture it looked a long way back for the Chapel Hill side.

It would be 12 minute before Chris McGarry raised their opening flag as he split the posts but when the excellent Cormac Scullion got forward for goal number 6 for the Marian Hill side it was well and truly over.
To their credit St. Joseph’s kept going to the end and scored three of the final four points through Branan Loughran, Arlo Lavery and Charlie McGrandles with the man of the match, Scullion replying with the final point of the game for the visitors.
