St. Mary’s GAC, Rasharkin held their Annual Dinner and Presentation evening in the Wild Duck in Portglenone on Saturday night.
More than 150 patrons attended where the guest of honour was Mickey McShane, the Antrim U20 Hurling manager. The Ballycastle man presented the Antrim Junior Hurling Championship trophy to team captain Donnagh Quigg and medals to the team who were warmly applauded as they received their awards.
Awards were also presented to the Rasharkin team who won the Minor Football Championship 25 years ago who received their awards to loud applause from the packed hall.


The Following Awards were presented on the night
Mickey McAleese cup for Minor Footballer of the year: Ciaran O’Neill – presented by Pauline McAleese
North Antrim Junior Hurler of the Year: Conor McKeever – Presented by Michael McShane
Devenish Complex – All Star award – presented by Michael McShane. We had 4 players shortlisted, Connarie Donaghy, Ruairi O’Boyle and Donnagh Quigg. Conor McFerran won the award as a midfielder on the team.
Paddy McLernon award for most improved Camog: Dervla O’Neill – presented by Danny McLernon.
McMullan cup for most improved Hurler of the year: Conan McMullan – presented by Brendan McMullan.
Christy Hardy trophy for most improved Footballer: Pearce McTague – presented by Michael Hardy.
Reserve footballer of the year: Daniel McGurk – presented by Brian Cowan.
Ciara McLaughlin trophy for Senior Camogie player of the year: Niamh Mooney – presented by Brendan Etherson
The Gerry Dalrymple cup for senior footballer of the year: Ruairi (Blondie) O’Boyle – presented by Donal McLernon.
Eugene Gribbon trophy for Senior Hurler of the year: Conor McFerran – presented by Hannah Gribbon.
The Dan Doherty cup for club person of the year: Christina Smyth – presented by Karol Doherty

On the evening St. Mary’s PRO, Daniel O’Mullan presented a cheque to Paddy McIlwaine who received it on behalf of the Saffron Gael. We at the Saffron Gael thank St. Mary’s for their continued financial support
