The members and friends of All Saints GAC had Ballymena spinning on Saturday as they hosted their Annual Charity Spinathon. Organised as part of the ever popular Saints & Slimmers programme the 8 teams involved assembled across the day from 10.00am to 4.00pm to raise money for this year’s nominated good cause – Women’s Aid.
While peddling for points was also the name of the game (as an overall Saints & Slimmers winning team will be announced at the Finale Night later this month) this was very much secondary to the efforts to raise vital funds for the valuable work the charity undertakes. The total amount raised will be revealed on the celebration night when a presentation to Women’s Aid will be made.
All Saints GAC would like to thank all who contributed to the fundraising effort including the participants themselves and the generous Ballymena public.
Special thanks to the local businesses who supported the spinners with copious amounts of tea, coffee, sandwiches and treats including Subway, KG McAtamney Greenvale Street, Dougies Goodies & McKillop’s Spar.
Thanks also to our programme partners, Ballymena Runners, for their continued support and Andrew from Flamingo Fitness for the use of both their premises and spin bikes. Not forgetting of course our spin tutor Teresa who prepared the team members over the last number of weeks and organised the music to keep everyone going.
