Cushendall march on in minor league

Naomh Padraig 0-10 Ruairi Og 4-20

Cushendall kept their unbeaten run intact in the All County Minor Hurling League when they travelled to Armoy and beat Naomh Padraig in convincing fashion. The home side were well in the game for most of the first half and could have been closer than they were (0-9 to 0-6) had they have taken some very good chances. However the wind was knocked out of their sails just before the break as Cushendall hit 2-1 inside two minutes, the goals coming from Niall McCormick and Ed McQuillan

The second half turned out to be one way traffic at the Ruairis piled on the scores. They added another two goals to their tally, Niall Allen grabbing one and Ed McQuillan bagging his second, and it could have been more had it not been for a series of smart saves by Naomh Padraig netminder Timmy Burns.

There was scores galore in Dunloy as the Cuchullains ran up 6-18 against Ballycastle, who also managed 18 points. Unbeaten Rossa scored a runaway 6-23 to 0-2 win over Slaughtneill to maintain their unbeaten run, though they have played a game less than Cushendall, while Oisins Glenariffe also put up a big score when they travelled to the city and beat Belfast Gaels by 3-16 to 0-8
