While the ACFL Division 1 & 2 are at the half way mark Division 3 has reached a much more advanced stage with 11 rounds played and its Sarsfields who have set the pace, followed by Glenravel and O’Donnell’s and these three look favourites to fill the two promotion spots. St. Malachy’s and St. Patrick’s Lisburn are well placed should any of the front three stumble in the race to the line.
Sarsfields continued their recent good form with a 6-12 to 1-4 win over Pearses at the weekend while Glenravel had little difficulty when they travelled to Mitchells, hitting 7-16 to 0-3 against the County’s basement club.
St. Patrick’s Lisburn kept in touch with a good win over St. Agnes, hitting an impressive 0-21 while St. Malachy’s lost ground when they fell at Eire Og by seven points. This leaves Sarsfields on 20 points from 11 starts with Glenravel two behind but having played a game less and O’Donnell’s on 15 points but they too have a game in hand.
Mitchells find themselves at the bottom of the league with Ballycastle just above them on 1 point but the McQuillan’s have three games in hand and could catch St. Agnes who have just four points from 11 starts.
