A Feast of Hurling at Naomh Padraig’s U10 Hurling Tournament in Armoy

Teams from Down, Tyrone, Derry, Belfast and North Antrim took part in Glen Rovers, Armoy’s U10 hurling invitational tournament at their excellent facilities on Saturday morning and the Saffron Gael was there to photography many of the participating teams

The tournament was for primary school children from P1 to P4” and hundreds packed into the Armoy grounds to watch and cheer on their sides as they served up a feast of hurling. The organising group within the Naomh Padraig club did an excellent job running this tournament with games running like clockwork.

On the preview in the Saffron Gael the organisers said ‘The plan is to make it a memorable occasion for the children; parents and coaches’ and they certainly achieved their aim.

The day was a really big sporting occasion for the young ones playing in Armoy, their mentors and the parents and supporters who came along to cheer on their young heroes. The players will remember it for years.
