South West Feile Finals this Sunday

Action from last year’s South West Feile final between All Saints and Moneyglass. The Ballymena side meet Erin’s Own cargin in Sunday’s decider in Ahoghill.

The South West Feile finals are scheduled for Sunday in Ahoghill with the defending champions from All Saint’s Ballymena set to meet up with Erin’s Own Cargin in the Cup competition and Cuchullian’s Dunloy and Con Magee’s Glenravel will contest the Shield decider.

The Ballymena side hope to retain the title which they won last year in stylish fashion getting the better of St Ergnat’s Moneyglass in the 2017 decider but most of last year’s side are no longer available. They have looked good thus far however in this year’s competition and gained access to the decider with a win over Tir na Nog in the semi-final.

The Cargin boys who are the reigning South West under-12 champions have also looked impressive this season and showed just how good they are in their semi-final victory gained over a strong Aldergrove and this may well be a close encounter.

The eventual winners will progress to the All County final where they will cross swords with the South Antrim champions.

The Shield competition which is the curtain raiser on a double bill of fare brings together Cuchullian’s Dunloy and Con Magee’s Glenravel.

The South Antrim Feile progressed on a different format than in the South West with a group version used on a league basis.

In the event the eventual table toppers progressed to the decider and ended with St Paul’s claiming a final berth when they defeated Michael Davitt’s in the semi -final with St Brigid’s getting the better of St Gall’s in the A section.

The B version, O’ Donnell’s and Patrick Sarsfield’s will contest the final following respective victories gained over Lamh Dhearg and Ardoyne in their semi-final assignments.
