First win eludes All Saints but there are encouraging signs as Na Magha visit

13ACHL Division 4

All Saints 0-13 Na Magha 0-15

After two starts All Saints are still looking for the first win in division 4 of the ACHL as they make their return to All County action this year after a number of years playing only in North Antrim. They certainly came mighty close and on this performance a first win might not be too far away.

The sides were locked at 0-8 apiece at the short whistle with Ciaran Neeson in the All Saints goals pulling off a first half penalty save and looking mighty assured throughout the hour. The return of Liam Cassley and Damian Gillan to their ranks after several years plying their skills with Cloughmills will certainly help their cause.

Damian Gillan led the way for the Slemish park side with 0-9 and had a chance to level the contest with virtually the last poc of the game but his penalty shot sailed over the bar when a goal would have given them a share of the spoils which their overall efforts deserved.

Along with Ciaran Neeson in goals and Damian Gillan others on the score-sheet were Liam Cassley 0-3 and Luke O’Rawe and the Ballymena side can take encouragement from this performance while reflecting on what might have been.
