Dunloy’s Brendan Mooney, was guest speaker at Friday morning’s Saffron Business Forum breakfast in the Malone Lodge Hotel. Mooney joined Kainos as a trainee software engineer in 1989, graduating from the computer science course at the University of Ulster. He held various roles in the software design company over the years including consultant, project manager and sales executive, before being appointed managing director of the company in 2001, just twelve years after joining. The mercurial rise of Mooney’s career was one of the many points touched on by former Antrim football star and Saffron Business Forum member Paul McErlean at Friday’s breakfast as the Dunloy man kept guests thoroughly entertained with a selection of stories of his career to date.

Antrim senior football team manager Lenny Harbinson was another guest speaker who had the guests hanging on his every word about his business career and how he applied many of his business ideas to his sporting life, especially in team management.
