Tonight marked the end of seven months of Glenavy Ògs where the future stars of Glenavy GAC battled the balance beams …went through the hoops ..played to the whistle and got their first taste of the sacred Game that is GAA. Over the last seven months the pre-schoolers got to grips with the basic skills needed such as running, jumping, agility, balance, co-ordination and most importantly having lots of fun and forming friendships we hope will take them through the future years.
Glenavy GAC would like to thank the following; the three coaches, Damian McCabe, Sean Dolan and Gavin McLaughlin for giving up their time every Monday evening, to Carmel McCormick the chairperson for showing her support tonight, our senior players Cathy Scanell & Michael McCourt for presenting the medals and not forgetting Bert Trowlen whose pictures highlight these great events and provide us with albums of great memories. Thank you to the parents for taking time out of their busy schedules to support the club and allowing their children to contribute to its future success. Also a huge thank you to The Chip Factory in Glenavy for their annual support of supplying the party food and to Britvic for the beverages, all this helps create a great sence of celebration and success amongst the children . Finally the club would like to thank Oaktree Nursery for their very generous yearly sponsorship of the Glenavy Óg jerseys. We wish all our Glenavy Ógs every success in the future as they progress through the underage ranks.
