St Brigids 2-8 St Galls 0-11
A Marcus Lynch strike deep into injury time saw St Brigid’s claim their second win of the season in a closely contested affair at Musgrave Park.
With the game in the balance and St Gall’s enjoying a spell of dominance, it was St Brigid’s who held their nerve to claim the league points.
After falling behind to two early points, St Galls settled and dominated the opening quarter and were full value for a 0-3 to 0-2 lead. But their good work was undone in the 23rd minute when Conor McAleer finished to the net to give St Brigid’s a two-point lead on 23 minutes, 1-2 to 0-3.
But the St Gall’s response was swift and they registered three points without reply to take a one-point lead into the changing rooms at half-time, 0-6 to 1-2.
Jack Dowling and Michael Pollock swapped points at the start of the second half before the home side enjoyed a purple patch midway through that second period.
Four unanswered points saw Anthony McGrath’s side take a three-point lead at 1-8 to 0-8 with less than ten minutes to play.

However, just when St Galls looked to be running out of steam, the Milltown men came roaring back with three points to level the game as the clock turned red.
As the contest ticked deeper into stoppage time it was looking like a case of next score being the winner, and when Lynch pounced with only seconds remaining, this turned out to be the case.
