Dunloy 1-23 Ballycran 1-10

A thirteen point haul from Nicky McKeague earned Dunloy victory in this division 1 encounter with the home side winning comfortably in the end. Ahead 0-11 to to 0-4 at the short break despite playing with the breeze Dunloy at times struggled to break down a resolute Ballycran defence for whom goalkeeper Stephen Keith pulled off three top class saves.

By the end of the first quarter Dunloy led 0-6 to no score with Nicky McKeague (0-4) and one apiece from Eamon Smyth and Ali Dooey leaving Dunloy well ahead. Ballycran then hit 0-2 without reply but taking his tally to 0-8 for the first half was Nicky McKeague who left the half time score Dunloy 0-11 Ballycran 0-4.

The second half saw a quick Ballycran point split the uprights but by the 4th minute a brilliant solo run from Nigel Elliott saw him finally beat Keith with a rasping low placed drive to the corner.

Ballycran seemed content to foul the nippy Keelan Molloy and Alistair Dooey but Nicky McKeague then hit a further 0-4 from frees before Kevin McQuillan scored his sides 6th from open play.

A Ballycran goal in the 23rd minute gave the scoreline an air of respectability but in the closing stages Dunloy hit points from Keelan and Kevin Molloy gave Dunloy top spot in division 1 for a further week on a 1-23 to 1-11 scoreline.

Scores Nicky McKeague 0-13, Ali Dooey 0-5, Nigel Elliott 1-0, Keelan Molloy 0-2, Eamon Smyth 0-1, Kevin McQuillan 0-1.
